My open letter to Zee TV

Dear Producers

I have been tormented by the likes of your stereotypical portrayal of women in all of your shows. My mother is an avid fan, and I have to put up with her bad taste in television all because of my unconditional love for her. However, I have reached my limit. Please do us all a favor and kill off every single constipated lip-gloss wearing male character in your television shows as they contribute nothing, except act as a catalyst to the poor quality productions and hysterically funny melodramatic dialogues.
I was a communications student and I now work in media, therefore I know what it is like to see excellent TV. I am disappointed that an organization such as yours has dropped its standards to this level. Please pull up your socks.

Regards,

  1. PLEASE tell me you sent this to them! Its fricking ridiculous all this saas-bahu-lipstick-kasamh se with all the overly made up characters and the eternal zooming in from different directions and thinking up mischievious plans out loud. let me know if you start a petition!

  2. I ALMOST DID! hahahahaha. I would be happy to start a petition, but unfortunately I know some very nice people in Zee whose feelings I do not want to hurt =(.

You know I was thinking that I could write an entire thesis on the stereotyping of women in Zee tv shows. I can't believe that women sit through this nonsense day after day!

  3. omg! i know, right? its like an addiction! not only do they sit through it, they get influenced by it and start thinking that people are really conspiring against them in real life. it reminds me of days of our lives, back in the day. the neverending drama that seems to change storylines after about 6 months only. and people i know engage in long *discussions* about this! ridiculouss!

Yes, you should doooo it! You could talk about the women and their excessive makeup, revealing saris, excessive zooming in on their horrible expressions, fake pregnancies, extramarital affairs, plots to kill others, etc etc, oh oh do a case study on someone named "Jigyasa" lol.

if only they could be converted to a religion of mean-girlsism or something. so much more fun & worthwhile!
